Discover the updated EMN Glossary and app: your go-to resource for migration and asylum terminology
The European Migration Network (EMN) has released the latest version of the EMN Glossary, a key tool for anyone working in migration and asylum policy. This updated edition, available via a redesigned app and website, features more than 540 terms, providing clear, verified definitions and translations in 27 languages.
The Glossary results from close collaboration with EMN National Contact Points and key EU agencies such as the European Commission, EUAA, FRA, Frontex, and international organisations including UNHCR and IOM. Its aim is to ensure consistent, reliable terminology supporting decision-making and operational work in migration and asylum across Europe.
Accessible both online and through an enhanced mobile app, the EMN Glossary introduces new functionalities and content. The app now includes a French version and new language options like Georgian, Ukrainian, and Armenian. Thanks to its offline feature, the app is particularly valuable for field practitioners in border areas or resettlement missions.
The EMN Glossary also aligns terminology with the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, offering thematic and alphabetical searches, as well as integrated eTranslation options for wider accessibility.
