Integration of Migrants as a Precondition for Building a Cohesive and Secure Society – EMN Czech Republic National Conference

The European Migration Network (EMN) organised the Czech National Conference Integration of Migrants as a Precondition for Building a Cohesive and Secure Society on 23 October 2025 in Prague. The event built on over two decades of Czech integration policy and sought to inspire a new vision for the integration of foreigners.

Discussions addressed evolving approaches to integration in the EU, the impact of social and economic change, the role of public debate and the need for long-term strategic planning. Later panels showcased good  practices from EU Member States and reflected on the Czech experience, highlighting a stable and gradually developing policy framework.

The final session focused on the upcoming revision of the Integration Policy, stressing stronger coordination between governance levels, the role of municipalities, maintaining regional capacities, and the digitalisation of migration processes. Participants agreed that integration remains essential for social cohesion and should be understood as a continuous and systematic process.
